Reds House

Passing of Reds House

MRMCA is saddened to announce the passing of our long-time member, A.O. “Reds” House, at 84 years of age. (1941-2026)

Reds started his career in the ready mixed concrete industry in April 1960 with The Arundel – Brooks Concrete Company, which then became part of The Arundel Corporation. Reds worked for Maryland Redi-Mix in Joppa, MD, before returning to S & G Concrete and Vulcan Materials Company. Reds held several positions during his career such as batch plant operator, dispatch, jobsite customer service representative, and sales representative. He hosted many hunting and fishing trips with customers throughout his career. One of his favorite sayings was “golf was for folks who don’t hunt and fish.” Reds was always ready to jump right in and make things happen.

He was involved with many large-scale projects, most notably the construction of the Fort McHenry Tunnel, and the Metro Subway projects in Baltimore.

Reds is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou, and son Keith. Also, brother Allen and sister Alice. Funeral services and Internment will be private.
